The city is on the road to a $300 million economic boost.
And few are happier than the mayor.
“That’s going to be a tremendous boost to our tax base,” Mayor Jerry Taylor said.
Homes. Apartments. Townhomes. Condos. Restaurants. Two hotels.
All these projects are either started, or will be starting soon.
The list goes on. And it’s all over the city.
Officials and staff all paint a rosy picture. The boom they saw years ago is back, and maybe even safer. But still they’re cautious as to how good things could get, and have one eye on what the future holds.
“I think it’s a good moment for the city right now,” said Nancy Byrne, the city’s director of development. “We’re poised to do a lot with what we have going on.”
